VIDAR Film Digitizer Installation Guide

Installing SCSI hardware

A SCSI controller (host adapter) is required to enable the VIDAR film

digitizer to communicate with your computer.

A computer equipped with a SCSI bus can communicate with multiple

SCSI devices (for example: a film digitizer, a scanner and a disk drive).

Each device must have a unique SCSI ID number so the computer can

distinguish it from other SCSI devices. Valid SCSI ID numbers range

from 1 to 6. Instructions for setting the film digitizer’s SCSI ID number

are provided in the previous chapter.

This chapter shows you how to install the SCSI interface card in your

computer. You will install the SCSI software the next chapter.

Unpack the SCSI accessory box.

Open the Adaptec™ SCSI accessories box and identify the following

components:
