Did not find all channels: Indicates that the routine detected
fewer than two channels or more than three channels. You may
need a new AHA-398x host adapter; call Adaptec or your
reseller.

Unknown Error in AIC-7870 Diagnostics: You may need a new
AHA-398x host adapter; call Adaptec or your reseller.
■
Interrupt Test for SCSI device at [
bus number:device ID
] failed.
Check interrupt assignment in system CMOS setup: Run the
system CMOS Setup program and verify that the interrupt
assignments are correct. If you are unable to fix the interrupt
assignments, you may need a motherboard upgrade. Contact
the system vendor.

Interrupt test for XOR device at [
bus number:device ID
] failed.
Check INT B assignment in system CMOS Setup. If no refer-
ence to INT B, try assigning interrupts to every PCI slot: Run
the system CMOS Setup program and follow the instructions
in the message text. If this does not fix the problem, you may
need a motherboard upgrade. Contact the system vendor.
BIOS Startup Messages
After you install your AHA-398x, the AHA-398x BIOS displays a
message when you boot your computer. Normally, this message
begins with the BIOS sign-on banner; continues with information for
each detected SCSI device, and ends with the statement BIOS
Installed Successfully!

Utilities disk for troubleshooting information.
If initialization fails, however, the AHA-398x BIOS displays a spe-
cific error message followed by a BIOS Installation Failure message.
